Dr. Wael El-Dakhakhni, Director of The McMaster Institute for Multi-hazard Systemic Risk Studies (INTERFACE), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding for research and academic cooperation with Dr. Khalid M. Mosalam, Director of the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER), USA.
The parties agreed to cooperate on mutually beneficial research activities focused on mitigating multi-hazard risk on critical infrastructure in Canada and the United States.
Both parties will facilitate the following activities to further research and academic interaction between them:
1. Joint research activities
2. Exchange of academic materials, publications and information
3. Exchange of faculty, researchers, and students
4. Participation in seminars and conferences
