Summary

Khaled Hassanein is a Professor of Information Systems, and Director of the McMaster eBusiness Research Centre at the DeGroote School of Business. His research focuses on technology adoption in eCommerce, mobile commerce, and eHealth applications; human-computer interactions; decision-support systems; data analytics; and Neuro-Information Systems. With a background in engineering, health and social sciences, Khaled is a believer in the value of interdisciplinary education and research. His research activities have resulted in over 100 peer-reviewed articles in academic journals, conference proceedings, books and patents to date. Khaled has extensive teaching experience at the MBA program at DeGroote. He also has international teaching experience having spent time as a Distinguished Visiting Professor at the American University in Cairo, teaching at the EDHEC Business School in Lille, France, and delivering executive courses with the Ontario Centres of Excellence. Prior to joining McMaster, Dr. Hassanein was a Senior Research Associate with NCR’s Payments Solutions division in Waterloo, Ontario. There he led several advanced development projects related to the automated processing of financial documents and the data warehousing and mining of financial transaction using pattern recognition techniques. During that time he worked on joint projects with AT&T Bell Labs and established collaborative research programs between NCR and several universities in Ontario. He is a joint holder of several U.S. patents, a senior member of the IEEE and a designated Professional Engineer in Ontario. He consults with industry on areas related to his expertise.
